mouth-watering stuff

Last weekend, as I've mentioned in the previous blog post, was date night. Had dinner at this Japanese restaurant, which is a local's favorite, called Sushi Tei. Let me tell you, I was so hungry that I devoured everything I ordered soon as the waiter placed them on our table.

Here's what's left off my order: Tempura Ebikko Maki, Salmon Mentai, Crispy Fried Salmon Skin, Agedashi Tofu, Salmon Roll...

As for dessert, this is a new item on the menu. I found it on the very back page of the menu. It was quite a find as it was incredibly mouth-wateringly-melt-in-your-mouth delicious! I forgot exactly what's it called... it was something along the line of soft chocolate sponge ice cream sandwich. I just had to brag about how delicious it was.

I wanna go back for more of that yummy dessert. Fantabulous!

Oh, and what did I do today? Went to our First Lady's place to give her my wed invitation in person. She was quite a character. Likes to tell tales. She's adorable and very nice. Awesomeness!

Public Enemies #1

Date night last night. Went to the movies to watch "Public Enemies" (finally!). I've been waiting to see this movie ever since the first time I know of this film haha, partly because Johnny Depp is in it. I'm a HUGE Depp's fan. And I mean, HUGE. Every film he touches, he turned it into magic.

Anyway. I don't understand why some people mentioned that this movie, "Public Enemies" sucked. I kinda realized the messy camera-work in some part, but maybe that was the intention and style the director's aiming for? I don't know. But I think this movie is ah-mazing. I love it. If John Dillinger looked like Johnny Depp in person, I would want to be taken care of by him too like Billy Frechette.

Can you point any resemblance? If you've seen the movie, I think Depp got it spot on with Dillinger's mischiveous smirk. Brilliant.

Johnny Depp as John Dillinger (J.D. much?)

chaotic

The last couple of days have been quite hectic for me. Therefore I haven't been able to really lay down a really interesting blog post. I've been busy labeling and listing my "invitations". Go figure that one out.

Three words that can best sums up what I've been experiencing:

Chaotic, Tiresome, Argument

Haha. But I think we got it done today. So I'll be back with more interesting stuff to write about. Stay tuned! Thanks for the wait.

Cheers!

Friday Night Lights

And I'm not referring to that tv series with the same title. It's Friday night and I'm staying in at home. I don't feel like going anywhere. It's been too hectic today with what happened this morning - the blasts - and I've been running around town all day doing errands, from dress fittings, etc.

Here's a sneak preview on what my fab dress will somewhat going to look like (and this is not the finished product.. there's still a heap amount of work that needs to be done):

I've been working so hard to achieve my target before the end of this month. I've succeeded. Wait, no, yea, there's no abs to look at but I still achieved my target of a darn flat stomach. I think. So say all you want. I'm pretty pleased with the result so far. (forgive me with that unsightly bathtub and its knick-knacks on the background)

This is what I've been doing all night. Painting my nails bright coral pink with OPI nail polish in Mod-ern Girl color. So am I a modern girl now? Nyah-nyah.

Enjoy.

bloody start

I wrote "bloody long weekend" on my facebook page last night out of my frustration preparing for my big day next month. Didn't expect it to turn into a real bloody start to a long weekend. This morning (Jakarta time), at around 7.45am, explosions rock Jakarta hotels - JW Marriott and The Ritz Carlton - prior to the arrival of Manchester United team this weekend. I don't know if the blasts have any connections with the upcoming friendly soccer game between Manchester United team and the Indonesian All Stars team next week, but it can't be just a coincidence. The Indonesian All Stars team are staying in JW Marriott, while the MU team are planned to stay at the Ritz Carlton hotel. I think this is just some wacko person's job trying to mess up our country's image with major events happening thus far - Presidential elections, and now, the soccer game between MU and our Indonesian All Stars team. This sucks. Seriously, people. Indonesia is not as scary or messed up as being portrayed in the media. Delete all the fucked up people who's responsible for all the bombings etc. Indonesia really is a nice place to live in. I have a lot of foreigner friends, and they're all loving it here - except for the heavy traffic.

Here's what's happening so far:

All photos courtesy of Reuters Yahoo

According to the information live from Metro TV, 9 people are confirmed to be killed (2 are foreigners) and at least 50 people woulded due to the result of this blasts happened simultaneously in two hotels located in the same area, Mega Kuningan.

Search www.youtube.com if you want to see more. It's live on CNN too as I'm writing this.

ps: I really do believe "outsiders" are trying to bring this country down, especially since we're slowly developing for the better in economy as well as internationally.

Boyfriend Shirts

Boyfriend shirts. Why wouldn't you love 'em? It's versatile and looked sexy worn in any women. It's loose and comfy enough to be your summer staples. It's great! I'm loving this look at the moment. I have a few myself, not necessarily owned by my other half. Sometimes I just buy them out of the blue because I like how it looked worn with leggings, or one of those liquid (fake leather look) leggings, skinny jeans, even shorts. It will make you look instantly effortlessly cool without trying too hard. As in the above pictures of celeb: Jess Alba, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Nicole Richie, and Blake Lively.

A little tip: If you're going to buy one of these boyfriend shirts (instead of borrowing one from your boyfriend), buy in smaller size - as in don't go too oversized otherwise you'll look too sloppy. Wear 'em with killer heels. Sexy.

Jem and the Hologram

Remember this one? It's a pretty well known 80's animation series. I don't know about you, but being a big fan of Barbie dolls myself, I'm particularly drawn to this series. Barbie doll-like fashions and crazy makeup and hairdos.. I love every single thing about this series. I wanted to be Jem and the Hologram. They're the epitome of cool girls. In my mind back then that is. Fast forward to 2009, I recently remembered this series - thanks to Nylon magazine - and downloaded some episodes on youtube. It may looked cheesy now, but I still think they're awesome. Totally awesome. I miss those days.

remembering..

I haven't wrote about this, so I figured I should.

July 7th, 2009, the whole world is in mourning to the death of a legend, the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. Every television channels broadcasts the Michael Jackson's memorial service live from Staples Centers. It was almost midnight here where I am, but I stayed up just to make sure I didn't miss any single thing from that spectacular event. The event made me shed a waterfall. I couldn't stop shedding tears. I think almost everyone I knew cried that night. It was a huge loss for the world. Here's a re-cap:

You'll always be in our heart and lived forever in our memories. Rest in peace.

Jeans Questions, Answered

Q. Denim leggings are seen sashaying before our eyes in stores these days. You love 'em but you're no stick figure? Can you really wear 'em?
The answer is: Yes. But remember: Treat your leggings like leggings, not jeans. And that means you want to pretty much cover your butt with your top; never ever, ever, ever tuck in your shirt or wear them with anything cropped. Instead, think of layering longer pieces over leggings, such as: tunics, long jackets, slouchy sweaters. (They can hit anywhere between fingertip length and just above the knee.) The model below does a great job of highlighting her shape by pairing her leggings with a long top and layering it with a jacket that gives coverage but still shows off her muscular legs. Nice!

Q. Celebs always seem to know about the newest jeans first. So what are they swearing by now?
It seems like every celeb and model was loving their J Brand jeans at the moment. Why? Well, the styles of these jeans flatter different body types, from petite to curvy to pregnant. Hollywood actress Sophia Bush said, "I feel as good in their skinny jeans as in their wide-legs." Below, you'll see the most popular style worn by some of celeb fashionista, Katie Holmes and Lauren Conrad, which are the skinnies. Vanessa Hudgens looked as stylish wearing the wide-legs style.

Stay tuned for more Jeans Questions, Answered. Only here!

vote, vote, vote

Yesterday it was voting day! I use my right to vote on who I want to rule my country as the President. So. Yeah. I vote!

This is what you get after you vote: (a purple pinky)

After voting day, went with my parents and fiancee for lunch at Mulia. Followed by a meeting with my weddng decorator. They're showing us the setting mock-up in the ballroom.

Later in the evening, I was planning to go see Ice Age 3, but out of luck, the tickets were sold out. Damn school holiday. So wandering around the mall in search for nothing in particular, before I got hungry again and before you know it, it's time for dinner:

Today?

I'm going for clothes fitting with my mother later in the day.

Minnie Mortimer

Here's another cool one. Found this online, I'm in love with the designs like immediately. "Minnie Mortimer". Don't you just love hearing that name?

Minnie Mortimer, the designer, born and raised in Manhattan, spent her childhood raiding her mother's closet and scouring her favorite vintage stores in Palm Beach and Southampton, inspired by Hitchcock blonde style and too many designers to mention, she loved throwing it all together in her own Minnie Mortimer way. When she couldn't find the exact shirt or dress, she would roll up her sleeves make it herself and wear it out to whatever thing she was off to next. It wasn't long before other fashionable girls about town were asking where they could get their own Minnie Mortimers, orders and just like that MINNIE MORTIMER, the fashion line, was born.

Check out some of her designs:

You can totally dress it up or down simply by switching fabulous accessories and shoes. My kind of style. Love it!

humor me

Okay. Here comes the boring blog post of the month.

Went to a friend's wedding - didn't manage to take any pictures because it was supposedly a garden party thing and it's too freakin hot that I almost melted in my seat to actually do anything.

Then went to PIM with my other half to grab a very very late lunch, consists of: Prawn wonton noodle, Fried prawn and chicken 'rolls and Fried tofu.. ugh, I know its too much fried stuff. But its really really good, and for cryin out loud, it's Sunday! I'm allowed to indulge.

What else did I do? Oh yeah. Went to the stationary store to browse through racks and racks of - what else? - stationary stuff. Haha. I got a bunch of goodies before my feet are starting to gave up on me. So, let's call it a day and go home and rest and watch CSI Sunday marathon.

More interesting posts soon. I just don't have the energy to think of any brilliant posting today.

revenge of the fallen

Yea.

Watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen today. After so many weeks unable to get tickets or simply just the ol' reason of "no time". FINALLY.

Some people said it was Ah-mazing. Some people said it was so-so and almost on the verge of not-as-good-as-the-first-one kinda thing.

Me?

Well I liked it. I've always been a big fan of Transformers for God knows how long. Although personally I thought the first half of the movie is a bit too much cheese-factors. The other half? It was great. Great. Great. I adore Bumble Bee and that little "humping" decepticon robot turned allies.

Josh Duhamel? Oh heck yeah. He's good at being gorgeous on camera. As always. Haha. Megan Fox? She's gonna be the envy of every women out there. How does she manage to look so effortlessly hot all the time?? I mean, seriously! Not fair.

Oh and by the way, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY, AMERICA! God bless you.

Signing off.

can it get any worse?

Today has probably got to be one of the worst days ever.

Can it really get any worse?

1. Everyone is turning against me. I don't even wanna go there anymore, it's not even worth it. I've shed my tears, so be it. I'm done.

2. The foot doctor is one evil grumpy old man (get this: I haven't even sat down for one minute he already starts giving me hell.. dude, if you're sick and tired of your freakin' job, well, just quit. No one forces you to do this. Don't complain and blame your patients.)

3. To top it off, the DJ that I wanted to play for my wedding is canceling out on me. I think it's the management's fault. I don't know. I don't know what's going on anymore.

So I ask again, can it really get any worse??

Yawn. I'm tired. It's almost 2 in the morning.

Good night.

noids vs. doodles

"Noids do not have sex with doodles. It's the oldest law in Cool World. I've never had to enforce it. You cross that line I'll slap you around and make you piss like a puppy. Jack, you think she got a thing for you, don't you? That's sweet. But don't flatter yourself. She's a waste of ink. Truth is she's been after me and every noid who's come through here. It's just that no one's been insane enough to get involved with her. You keep your pencil in your pocket. Know what I mean?" - Frank Harris

Watched this movie last night on HBO.

I've watched it a coupla times before, but its been years since the last time I saw it. Starring Brad Pitt as Frank Harris, Kim Basinger as femme fatale doodle Holly Would and Gabriel Byrne as Jack Deebs. Pretty cool mixture between animation and real people during its release time. But I'm telling you, this film, it's not for the minors. Do NOT let your little children watch this, unless, of course, they've hit puberty already haha.

For those old enough to watch this film: It's worth the watch, people.

"Pencil dick." - Holli Would

Isabel Marant

Isabel Marant is a young, Paris-based designer who has been making a name for herself, creating eclectic pieces with bohemian edge. Her creations are body-conscious, yet comfortable enough for everyday chic wear and come in luxurious fabrics and innovative colors. She recently launched Etoile, a less expensive secondary line that maintains Maran't rock and roll aesthetic.

I'm in love with her designs, it's absolutely, totally and utterly me.

Check out her Spring '09 designs:
