Fill The Fields

Last weekend was pretty tiring. It was the husband's family wedding event back to back both Saturday and Sunday. And to top it off, Baby A was coming down with a flu all week. Fortunately, after the Sunday's event, we managed to sneak in a little family moment to Plaza Senayan and took Baby A for a late afternoon stroll around the mall while waiting for the husband getting a (new) haircut!

Anyway. Here's a treat for you.

I love this band so much. It reminded me back into my junior high school year. There's not a lot of awesome songs like these anymore these days :P

Hong Kong Trip Day 5

Here we are. The last day of our Hong Kong trip.

Here's Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4.

Oh, before we start, I want to show you what the Disneyland park ticket looks like:

Pretty sweet, eh?

Okay. Day 5. Breakfast at the usual spot, the Enchanted Garden. How fun was it to have your breakfast every morning accompanied by Disney characters? Though I got a bit bored having to take pictures with the same characters over and over, I couldn't help but felt a bit overjoyed.

After breakfast, we went to Hong Kong central again for that little bit of shopping and sightseeing. I went shopping a bit at H&M, though I must say, the kid's collection for boys are a bit disappointing.. they didn't have most of the stuff that I wanted for Baby A.

Then, we had lunch at this Chinese restaurant called.. um.. wait, hang on.. shoot. I totally blanked out on the name of the restaurant. It doesn't matter. It wasn't that good anyway haha. After lunch, it started to rain again. Pretty heavily I should say. So we ducked into the nearest shopping mall for shelter, making our way to The Landmark again because I wanted to go to Three Sixty supermarket again! I love that supermarket so much!

At around 3pm-ish, we decided to have a proper high-tea at this cute little place called Cova. Super yummy treats! The savory dish, the pastries, the tea cakes.. they were all so delicious!

Since we have to get up super early to catch the 9am flight back to Jakarta the next day, we didn't want to exhaust ourselves too much. So after tea, we went back to the hotel. We had dinner at the adjacent hotel, Disneyland Hollywood Hotel. It was very different in concept. They had art deco interiors and had a more modern feel to it. Too bad it was raining again, that we couldn't go out into the garden to see some classic old show cars.

Look at the cute Pork-face Steamed Bun!

Finished dinner, we went back to the hotel and started packing for our flight home the very next day. And that concludes our fun Hong Kong trip!

All in all, it has been a wonderful vacation. I hope we get to come back again real soon! Until next time Disney!! You've been so good to us!

Hong Kong Trip Day 4

Day 4!

In case you're not up-to-date with what's been going on thus far, here you go: Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3.

Woke up on day 4 to find the sun is shining bright, the sky is clear as day.. PERFECT! We got ready excitedly without forgetting the most important meal of the day, breakfast!

We're supposed to return back to Jakarta today but, after managing to pull a string here and there, we get to extend our stay in Hong Kong! Yeah! Super excited!

Breakfast, check. Shower, check. Packed all of Baby A's needs, check. We're ready to conquer Disneyland once again! The three of us (my parents stay behind to enjoy the spa treatment back at the hotel) took the shuttle bus to the park, by the way, we got the two-day entry ticket. And word of advice, better buy the ticket at the hotel or online in advance to avoid queuing at the park's ticket booth which can take too much of your time.

So anyway. Here we are. Our second round to the Hong Kong Disneyland. Though the sun was scorching, we didn't mind one bit. It was a bit better than when it pouring rain all day. So we're very excited.

We had to start from Tomorrowland. We did the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster ride which was super fun. Though he didn't react much, I can tell Baby A was also excited to get in on the action shooting all those pesky aliens. Afterwards, Baby A played a bit at this area (I forgot what it's called) where little kids can get down and literary wet from the water shooting from the ground. He was ecstatic watching other kids got sprayed with water.

Between taking pictures and trying to score some points, this is all that I managed to get.

After lunch, the husband wanted to take Baby A to ride Autopia, but since it was super hot out, I told him let's wait a while until around 3-ish (mentally noting that it won't be so hot then). So we headed to Adventureland where we did the Jungle Cruise ride.

Since the sun wasn't so hot, we decided to went back to Tomorrowland to ride the Autopia (finally). Halfway into the queue Baby A fell asleep. I guess he got tired from the excitement. And besides, it was his nap time. Oh well, we were hoping he'll woke up soon as we're about to ride the car. However, the day turned bad. The sky was heavily cloudy, I'm sensing a rain about to come. Boy, was I right. Suddenly there was a loud thunder and all of a sudden a PSA was heard through the loud speaker stating that since there's a thunderstorm warning all outdoor attractions/rides will be closed! We had to leave the premise and find shelter. Bummer! We were so close! So we met up with my parents at the Corner's Cafe while Baby A still sound asleep. Then it started to rain. At exactly 3.35pm (as we're expecting to see a parade), another PSA was heard stating that due to bad weather, the parade will be changed into Disney Rainy Day Special.

The Disney Rainy Day Special. Awesome vehicle.

Once Baby A finally woke up, we decided to just took a stroll under the rain through Main Street doing some last minute shopping of Disney's knick-knacks. We end the day by having dinner at the hotel's restaurant. It has been a great two rounds of Disneyland despite the bad weather. I guess for me, rain or not, nothing can 'rain on my parade' when it comes to a Disney trip!

This may be the end of our Hong Kong Disneyland trip, but wait, more stories to come on our awesome Hong Kong vacation! Stay tuned for more!!

Hong Kong Trip Day 3

It's Day 3! If you haven't read already, here's Day 1 and Day 2.

Woke up on day 3 only to find it was pouring rain outside since 6 in the morning! During breakfast I was sad to see lots of children feeling disappointed that it was raining that day. I thought the rain would be done by the time we finished with our morning daily routine. But oh no. This is what we found written on our hotel room's phone screen:

What a way to start your day at Disneyland *sighs*

After moping around the hotel room (whilst waiting for Baby A taking a nap), we finally decided to brave through the rain. Pouring rain just won't stop us from conquering Disney! Armed with our brand new raincoats (even for Baby A) and umbrellas, we marched into the Disney park.

At the Main Street, an array of shops selling souvenirs, trinkets and even snacks ready to take shelter the people who wishes to get out from the rain.

We had lunch at the Plaza Inn restaurant (still in the Main Street area) which serves yummy Cantonese food. The restaurant was packed as it was lunch hour and I think people just wanted to get out from the rain.

After lunch, we went to Fantasyland to take the Dumbo (under the drizzling rain, don't worry Baby A is safe from all that), Winnie the Pooh and It's A Small World ride. Baby A had so much fun noticing all of the Disney characters he knew by heart already.

Then we're off to the Toy Story Land (a brand new area in Disneyland Hong Kong). I'm really excited, although due to bad weather, the RC Racer ride was being closed. Bummer.

Eek! Check out what's coming soon in Disneyland Hong Kong!

Cute Mickey Mouse shaped cookies!

I think Baby A was quite excited about the whole thing that he simply won't take a short nap like he usually does although I know he's a bit tired and feeling rather sleepy. So we took the train ride (in hopes that he'll fall asleep). But of course he didn't. So we stopped at the Main Street and went shopping for a bit, then had dinner at the Corner's Cafe (the kid's meal was yummy that Baby A finished it all sleepy and all).

It was almost 8pm by the time we finished dinner, so we decided to return to the park the next day in hopes that the weather would be a lot better (mind you, that day, it was raining the WHOLE DAY). We watched the fireworks as we walked back towards the shuttle bus area. Until Day 4!
