Once you enter the lobby entrance, you'll be greeted by a bronze statue of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. This Victorian style hotel is very grand yet cozy at the same time. The grand foyer overlooked a breathtaking view of the ocean. I also love the intricate detailing of the birdcage elevator. Every 10am and 12pm Disney Princesses (Cinderella, Belle and Sleeping Beauty) would come into the main lobby and pose for pictures.
On the 2nd floor, a big band would play every few hours, performing classic Disney songs and even big band jazz songs. Very entertaining!
Our room is on the 6th floor, which is actually located on the 2nd floor. I know, I got confused the first time as well. We had the garden view room, which is absolutely perfect! With balcony!
The gift shop which is located near the lobby entrance features many toys, t-shirts, souvenirs, cookies, chocolates.. all within the Disney themes. Of course I went crazy in there!
The hotel's garden was HUGE. With a maze positioned smack bang in the middle of the garden in which they called the Mickey Maze. The garden overlooked the ocean view, which I find really beautiful. You can even take a stroll near the ocean all the way to a small pier on the left side of the hotel.
From the hotel you can go to the Disneyland park by walking. It took about 10-15 minutes. BUT. If you're lazy or if the weather wasn't on your side like it did while I was there, there's always a shuttle bus ready to take you to the park and back. Very convenient!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel. Although most of the staff could really do with more fluent English, it'll be super helpful for foreigners who don't understand a word of Chinese.
