Stylista: Elizabeth Olsen

I'm currently obsessing over one of the Olsen siblings. Elizabeth Olsen. Her style is simply fab. I love the whole mix of feminine and androgynous look. LOVE.

It's a Birthday!

My birthday to be exact. I'm so happy and grateful for today for I am surrounded with so much love and blessings.. to celebrate, we went out to dinner at Luna Negra. Yum.

This morning when my parents wishes me a happy birthday, baby A all of a sudden ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug and kiss. I guess although he may still not understand the concept of "all people celebrate birthdays" somehow he understood that it was a special day for his mom. Such a darling. After dinner, the waiters present me with a huge birthday cake, of course baby A thought it was his birthday cake. Such a funny guy.

It was a wonderful evening with my family and also I'd like to thank each and every one of you who wishes me a happy birthday today. I love you all.

Vote Day

Today is voting day. The day, as residents of DKI Jakarta, we get to vote for the new city's governor. This was the second round. A battle between Foke-Nara vs. Jokowi-Ahok. My family (as obvious as we get) are voting for Jokowi-Ahok. Because, to be honest, I think we need a new person's perspective to run the city. Anyway. To support the chosen party, we've decided to wear their signature outfit: The plaid shirts.

Here you go:

I wasn't in the picture because, obviously, I'm the one taking the picture. Okay, I gotta be honest with you, I also wasn't wearing the shirt. Why? I don't know. I guess I just don't feel like looking too obvious haha.

Who did you vote, people of DKI Jakarta?

Oh, congrats to Jokowi-Ahok for winning ;) May Jakarta shall be a bigger and better city.

New Stuff

I've been searching for a new nail polish shade to add to my collection. I still love dark shades especially OPI's Lincoln Park After Dark.. and a burgundy one from Chanel that my mom gave me. But I've been getting the bright bug. I have Mod-ern Girl from OPI. And this is my latest purchase, and I have to say, I think it's going to be my fave shades of blue! This one is OPI's No Room for the Blues.

Another new stuff. This one is an early birthday present from my brother. Yay! It's an awesome clutch bag made by Indonesian designer (also my cousin Anez). I love it! Can't wait to wear it out and about!

Speaking of which, my birthday is in 4 days! So excited! If you're wondering what to get me for my birthday (hey, a girl can wish right?) here are some ideas!

current love

...are these gorgeous new babies! Topshop brogue shoes in cream. I love love love the softness of the fabric, the masculinity of the style yet still feminine at the same time somehow. LOVE.

What If

"Dear Claire, 'What' and 'If' are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side by side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don't know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it's never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn't it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart. I don't know what a love like Juliet's feel like - love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for, but I'd like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I will have the courage to seize it. And Claire, if you didn't, I hope one day that you will. All my love, Juliet."
Letters to Juliet.

Not actually referring to the 'love' bit.. but I'm constantly wondering and often haunted by the 'what ifs' of my own life. Just a thought.

Birthday Wish Lists

Okay, my birthday is only 12 days away, but there's no harm done in laying out my birthday wish lists, right? Here goes:

Balenciaga Mini Pompon bag in Rose Blush or Light Blue (preferably the rose one).
Balenciaga Mini Pompon bag picture courtesy of Something Fab

Proenza Schouler PS1 Medium bag in Camel, Tan or Blue.. or maybe Black (either one).

Charlotte Olympia suede cat flat shoes in Black or Raspberry (either one).

Chuck Taylor Converse Slim leather sneakers in Black.

Parisian Chic book by Sophie Galet.

Cupcakes and Cashmere book by Emily Schuman.

And last but not least, can I have one Matt Bomer turned straight? Okay, this one is pure wishful thinking. So can I just please have him as my gay best friend? Pretty please?

I think I got the books part covered by the Mister, so if you're willing to present me these delicious birthday gifts mentioned above, I'll be more than delighted and forever be grateful to accept them haha!

progress and a birthday

I'm very happy to say that baby A has grown into such a fascinating, intelligent, curious and joyful boy. His curiosity, especially, towards everything surrounding him is utterly fascinating to watch. His sense of memory is also amazing! He remembers the littlest things. He has that eagerness to learn even at such a young age. I'm such a proud momma! Witnessing his progress is such a joy in itself. I'm sure all mothers will feel the same way on their own children. The things children can do to oneself. Amazing.

As I can tell, September really is a joyous month ;)

Speaking of which, my mother's birthday was on the 8th. We didn't celebrate big. Mainly due to the fact that she just got back from her trip (with my dad) to Yogyakarta for a friend's fashion show. They arrived just in time for dinner on the 8th, so I had our cook to make us Nasi Tumpeng to celebrate modestly. Happy birthday Mom, wishing you nothing but greatness. I'm one lucky daughter to have you as a mom. Love you always..

Bali August 2012 Trip: Finale

This is it. The finale of our August 2012 Bali vacation. Our flight back to Jakarta is at 3pm with Garuda. We decided to take off early from the hotel to have lunch at Metis in Kerobokan, before heading to the airport.

The Bali airport is being renovated, hence, super chaotic. I almost passed out from the lack of air during check in. The flight was delayed for about 15 minutes, all executive lounges are full capacity. All seats are full on the waiting area because there's SO MANY people. Anyway, at around 3.30pm-ish, we were summoned to board the flight and we flew back home marking the end of our vacation.

Hope to see you again real soon, Bali. Until our next vacation and/or destination!

My September!

Welcome my September! So many wonderful things to look forward to. My birthday (on the 24th) for instance.. *wink* and then there's also my mother's birthday (on the 8th). Grandiose!

I look forward to a wonderful September!

Bali August 2012 Trip: Part 5

This is it. The last day of our Bali trip. The last day calls for a super leisurely day. The husband, baby A and I decided to stay back and just enjoy our last day just hanging around Nusa Dua area while my parents are off to Ubud.

Starting the day with breakfast and a morning swim.

After we cleaned up, we took a shuttle bus to Bali Connection, which is sort of like an outdoor shopping center (they have Sogo department store, outdoor restaurants, souvenir shops, surf shops, etc. shame it was pretty deserted) and on to The Bay Nusa Dua to have lunch at Bebek Bengil. Baby A ate a whole chicken and half of adult's rice portion! Then we stroll around Nusa Dua The Bay's beach which I thought were super beautiful! Not many people crowding the beach as it is still part private beach.

Baby A managed to take a short nap while we took a short coffee break at Starbucks. Then its time to catch the shuttle bus back to our hotel. We wanted to have our last beach time.

For dinner we head back to The Bay. Benihana time! The restaurant was located in this beautiful beautiful two floors building. Very chic and ultra grand. Our chef for the night was Balinese and the food I find is way better than the one in Jakarta. For sure! Baby A finished his chicken katsu and a whole bowl of rice!

We stroll back to the Bali Connection to catch a shuttle bus, before my dad encounter an incident where he snaps his sandals so we had to buy a new one haha. So funny. And then that's it. We call it a night because I had to pack for our departure back to Jakarta the following day. *sigh*
