Kids (2015 recap 2)

I am so grateful to be blessed with two adorable, energetic, and healthy kids. As a big brother, Little A has been super doting to his little baby sister. Although at times he would act jealous, but it was never anything too serious. I am so blessed for these two.

Christmas and Halloween (2015 recap 1)

This will be part 1 of my 2015 look back (during my hiatus from this blog). And of course, it's going to be all about the special events that are Christmas and Halloween.

November-December Hauls

Since today (it is past midnight already) is basically will be the last day of 2015, I'm planning on doing a look back post of 2015 in the morning or later in the afternoon.. because let's face it. I haven't really been super productive with my blog. So I thought it would be the perfect way to sum up what's been up the during my MIA moment.

Meanwhile, this blog will be about my November-December hauls. So let's talk about that.

Rest in Love

My late Eyang Jacoba on my wedding day, 2009

My last blog post was on December 15th. Who knew things would changed so drastically within hours after I wrote that blog post. First things first, it was my father's birthday. We celebrate it very casually. I baked him a chocolate cake, which was oh so good, obviously.

Major M.I.A

I have been absent for quite some time now, and it's already the middle of December. I've been quite preoccupied with a new baby and juggling life as a mom of two. I've also been scheming up on something. A little something that I'm hoping I can present for the new year.

Sorry for keeping this one short, because the little baby is currently crying, which means its feeding time already.

Until my next post, hopefully I can make it longer and more in depth.

That Birthday Wish

Remember that birthday wish list I made a while back? Well. I didn't get all of them, but I did get some of them. Happy birthday girl!

I shall caption this photo: "Husband Knows Best"

Now, before I get on in details, I didn't celebrate my birthday in a festive way this year. Why? Well, I spent half of it at the hospital because my baby girl was treated for her jaundice. And thank God the good doctor allowed us to go home on my birthday too. But I was basically still exhausted from birthing and adjusting life back with a newborn, I just wasn't in the mood to celebrate. Next year should be interesting though, right? My baby girl will have her 1st birthday.

Well alright then.

Baby Update: She's Here!

Wow. It has been almost one whole month since my last blog post! I have been super occupied because guess what? The baby is here! Well. Actually our baby girl was born on September 18th 2015 at exactly 00.09 AM (talk about feeling exhausted and sleepy afterwards). From now on, we'll call her Baby K.

Baby Update: (almost) Week 38

So last Friday I went to my doctor for my last couple of weekly checkups. Everything was super healthy and in excellent condition. The baby is now weighing at about 3,4kg (way heavier than Little A was!) and she's a plump little thing! I have gained about a total of almost 9kg. I wasn't as bloated as my first pregnancy, despite the fact that with this pregnancy I literally ate whatever the hell I want. With the first pregnancy, I really was cautious about what I ate. Meaning, I limit myself to eating healthy food only. Anyway. During the checkup, my doctor mentioned that he thought the baby will be coming soon, so that I should get myself ready in the next 2-3 days. Oh. My. God. I thought I still have about a week or so. If he's right, I might be going into labor possibly tomorrow (because tomorrow is the third day) or the following day. Whenever this baby ready to pop out, I'll be prepared, although anxious, but I will be ready. Little A was so excited that his baby sister will be 'popping out' soon.

Cross my fingers. Wish me luck.

Little A's 5th

This is a late post, I know. But it's better late than never. Right? So on August 26th my son celebrate his 5th birthday. Wow. I can't believe he's 5 already. It seems like he just popped out of my tummy yesterday. Before you know it, he'll be starting his primary years next year. *tears*

Anyway. He has been requesting a birthday party for reaching his 5th year milestones. He was being super specific about it. I'll tell you all about it.

Long Overdue One

First of all I have to apologize to my blog page for being absent for quite some time now. I just haven't had the energy to actually sit down in front of my computer and blog about whatever it is the heck going on in my life. I have been quite busy, and I didn't realize until why I get so easily tired at the end of the day. Sometimes I forgot that I'm currently heavily pregnant and still stubbornly wanting to juggle everything by myself.

Pregnancy-wise, I'm already in my 37th weeks! I can't believe how fast time seems to go by. Basically I'm just waiting for the moment this baby ready to pops out. Little A has been getting more and more excited and anxious to meet his baby sister. HEY NOW. If I haven't mentioned it in any of my previous posts.. YES. We are having a baby girl! I'm very excited yet nervous at the same time. But I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually.

37 weeks 2 Days:

- My back is hurting more and more.
- My belly feels SO heavy.
- I'm getting easily tired.
- I'm getting nervous because it's getting closer to the due date.

I haven't gain that much weight, although my baby bump was bigger compare to when I was pregnant with Little A. She's almost 3kg now. I think this one is going to be a big baby. I have only gain 8kg-ish up until now. I guess most of the weight went to the baby. As long as mom and baby are both healthy, right?

What else is new? Oh yeah, Little A just had his 5th birthday on August 26th, I'll talk about it in another post with some awesome pictures from the party he had at school. Le husband was the party organizer, and I must say, he's actually quite good at it.

It's SEPTEMBER ALREADY! My month. My birthday is of course coming up soon. Probably around the baby's due date. I'm really hoping and wishing for a Libra baby. Because, for obvious reason no. 1, is I'm a Libran. Reason no. 2 is I've already had way too many Virgos in the family.. we need more varieties, man!

I guess that's all for now. I'll try to update some more soon!

xx

Eid Mubarak Weekend

mi famiglia

Happy Eid Mubarak! We celebrated the wonderful week of Eid Mubarak this weekend. Wishing everyone a very joyful weekend full of love and festivities with your loved ones.

Baby Update: Week 29

Time seems to zoom past by me! I can't believe I'm almost in my 30 weeks of pregnancy! Except for the occasional backache I've been feeling super fine. My doctor also mentioned that everything looked super healthy and strong during our last monthly check up. I really can't wait to finally meet this little one. Little A has been getting more and more excited as my bump grows bigger because he knew that that meant the baby will be "coming out from mama's tummy soon!" -direct quote.

I haven't really gained that much weight this time around. Whereas when I was pregnant with Little A, I gained a kilo each month. This time it was harder to predict because everything went unexpected. I gained some weight, and then I lost some weight. Although the baby is still in excellent condition.

Let's hope for a smooth last trimester and a smooth and super easy child labor and birth.

29 Weeks 6 Days

- I really miss sleeping on my belly
- Suddenly I miss my skinny jeans and summer denim cutoffs
- The backache is such a nuisance
- My appetite has been fluctuating up and down
- I really should start prepping and shopping prior to the arrival of the baby

Long Weekend: Singapore

Last weekend (over the America's Independence Day weekend) we went on a short family getaway to Singapore. Although we didn't get to crammed as much stuff that we'd like to do, due to my heavy pregnancy, it was still a fun trip. A perfect getaway before we'll be super busy with the arrival of the new baby. Right??

Hello Summer, See You Later Cellulite

Summer is here. And you know damn well, the only thing that gets in the way between you and that perfect summer beach body is the dreaded cellulite. There hasn't been any scientific method on how to get rid of those cellulite (other than through some sort of cosmetic procedure). But there is one thing that you can do to blur out cellulite this summer.

The answer is: FACE PRIMER.

Yes. The same product that can smooth out your pores, can also be used to even out dimply skin. It has the same effect as instagram filter haha. Choose a silicone-based formula and layer it on top of lotion or even sunscreen, and you're good to go.

Jewelry is a Girl's Best Friend

Instagram @tuloladesigns

Recently my mother went on a little getaway to Bali with her friends. She came back bearing goodies for her only daughter (namely, me!) which I absolutely LOVE. I got this gorgeous gold chained ring from Bali-made Tulola Jewelry (above) and a striped sandals from Biasa (not pictured).

Baby Update: Week 25

I'm already in my 25th weeks of pregnancy and it has been pretty smooth sailing from here on *crossing my fingers it'll stay that way until push day* I went to see my doctor last week and he said everything is super healthy and looking really good. I'm so excited yet anxious at the same time. I've kind of forgotten already the feeling of anticipation and anxiety pregnancy can bring.

We've already known the gender of our baby.. well, actually we knew since the 3rd month because our doctor confirmed it to us. But I think we're going to keep it for ourselves for now. All I can say is that Little A's wish came true on what gender he wants his little sibling to be *LOL* We might announce it once we hit sometime in the third trimester. So we'll see.

25 Weeks 2 Days

- I miss sleeping on my stomach.
- I miss working out.
- The baby loves to move around (poking and kicking) at night time.
- I miss beef tartare and raw sushi.
- I miss my skinny jeans.
- I'm surprised with the changes with my body.. but gotta embrace it, right?
- I can't wait to start shopping for this baby.

Homebody

I am such a homebody. I love the comfort of cozying up in my own home lounging and relaxing over some home-cooked meals. Don't get me wrong though. I do love the occasional going out with my friends and what not. But nothing beats that warm and fuzzy feeling of snuggling in couch with your fave homemade snacks in your lounge-wear.

My homemade Double Chocolate Chunk Soft Cookies (yum!)

Husband's famous homemade weekend Buttermilk Pancake (super yum!)

Repetto, Je t'aime

I have this never ending love relationship with the French shoe brand, Repetto. I do consider myself a classic when it comes to my view on fashion. I like things simple, classic and timeless with an edge. Some would call this type of style the 'French Girl' style. Maybe I do dress like the typical 'French Chic' norm. I love the classic stripes, ballet flats, simple black moto leather jacket, simple crisp casual blazer, dark skinny jeans, denim cutoffs, simple summer dresses, black and whites.. you know what I mean.

I am currently lusting these shoes by Repetto (top: the Brigitte, bottom: the Camille). I'm planning on getting one or two of them soon.

For more Repetto go to their official website Repetto Official
Or visit the Indonesian store at Plaza Indonesia Shopping Mall

Year End Concert

About a couple of weeks ago, my son's school held their annual Year End Concert and K2 Graduation Ceremony. Being in K1, my son and his friends participated in the concert. This year the theme was Thumbelina. My son's class performed a ballroom dancing number as Princes and Princesses. Couldn't be more proud of you, kiddo!

FRANK Coffee Scrub

This is my recent beauty purchase. Well, actually, more like body treatment purchase. FRANK Coffee Scrub - Original.

To be honest, I haven't really been reading reviews of this product prior to purchasing it. I saw it on instagram and since it is made completely out of natural ingredients (yassss I'm all about that!) and its vegan, I decided to give it a go. After making the purchase, I googled it.

Basically it:

Targets cellulite, stretch marks, psoriasis, varicose veins, eczema, acne and scarring with roasted and ground robusta coffee beans. Smooths your lumps and bumps with brown sugar and sea salt, moisturize and tone your skin with cold pressed sweet almond oil, and use vitamins and minerals to work wonders from the outside in.

I'm sold with the natural ingredients already, so when I finally read the description and other people's reviews, I'm beyond excited to try it out. I'm not a coffee drinker.. but I do love the smell of coffee. So yeah. The packaging itself was super cute, too!

Anyway, tried it out for the first time yesterday. I scrub my body with two handfuls of the product and let it sit for 10 minutes before rinsing it off completely. I have to tell you I really love how it made my skin feels all smooth and soft! We'll see what will happen if I use it regularly after a couple of months.

LOVE!

Our Prince George

How cute is he? I mean.. Come on now! Little Georgie has gotten so big and effing heavy! This little pup loves to jump around like no one's business. Funny little Frenchie. At times he looked like a fat rabbit from behind.

New Goodies!

My current new fave purchases of April 2015!

Ottoman Hands 'Libra' birthstone sapphire and gold ring
So I purchased this baby through ASOS website.. when I first saw it I just had to have it. Libra is my sign. Sapphire and Gold are my two favorite things in the world.

Tangle Teezer detangling hairbrush
With this pregnancy, my hair game hasn't really been 'on'. It was so different compare to my first pregnancy where my hair were so gloriously shiny, full, frizz-free. This time around, my hair was so unruly, frizzy and I've also been experiencing mild hair loss due to the tangling of hair. I don't know what to do with it. Until.. I found this detangling hairbrush! Buh-bye frizzy hair! Buh-bye hair loss! I really recommend this product.

Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid lipstick in 'Pure Hollywood'
I recently had to let go of my Lime Crime liquid lipstick in Cashmere mainly because (a) I rarely used it, and (b) the color wasn't really suitable to my skin tone. I think it's more because the undertone of the lipstick is beige-grey and it looked washed out against my tan/olive complexion. Then came ABH with its similar shade called 'Pure Hollywood'. I find this one really suits my skin tone best because it has a hint of coral undertone! LOVE! And I personally love the consistency of this product better than Lime Crime.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit

Although this wasn't really a recent purchase (I got my hands on them about a month ago, I think?) it has been my personal favorite purchase of the season: Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (FYI, I got them in Light shade).

I got the powder one (I was going to get the cream one, but..) because I thought I would get so much wear out of this one instead of the cream one. The powder one is highly pigmented but light enough to wear on a day to day basis. I am absolutely loving this product!

Soon as I got them, I immediately gave it a try. Well, I'm not sure if you can really see the differences because I only use very light contouring technique as I was only going to pick up my son from school. I personally love the result. I'll try getting a more decent contouring technique photo using this kit. But for a daily wear? I think it suits me just fine. I totally recommend this product.

On my face:
Benefit Tinted Moisturizer in Light
Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade in Chocolate
Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner
Sephora nude lip liner
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (Right)

What do you think?

Embracing the New Bump

This is me and my 11 weeks old baby bump

I have been embracing my newly growing belly. I have quite forgotten how it actually feels to have your belly grows by the day when you're pregnant. It does come with its own pros and cons. The only cons: I can't sleep on my belly for now. I kinda already missed it haha.

FILM by Davy Linggar

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to be invited to attend private opening of one of my favorite Indonesian photographer, Davy Linggar, at the Papilion Kemang entitled "FILM" an art exhibition.

Big thanks to mba @jannehufron and mas @davylinggar for the invitation!
